Hope Cavallo
My style is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and very much centred around the person sitting across from me. I want to get to know you: your story, your personality, your values, what matters to you, and what you hope will feel different in your life.
My role is to really listen, get curious with you, ask thoughtful questions, and sometimes offer a perspective you may not have considered. We’ll explore what’s working, what isn’t, what you want more of in your life, and what might be getting in the way.
My work draws from several therapeutic approaches, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Self-Compassion, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and mindfulness practices. We can pull from different approaches along the way depending on what you need and where you are in your life.
My hope is that our work together helps you recognize your own strengths, understand yourself with greater compassion, and trust yourself to make choices that feel aligned with who you are and the life you want to create.
A Little More About Me
Family, friendships, and connection mean so much to me. I treasure time with my husband, our adult children and their partners, family who live near and far, amazing friends, and of course, Bruno! I love the simple things in life such as: daily walks with Bruno, reading a good book, playing pickleball for fun, binge-watching a great tv series, going to the movies, travelling, listening to live country music, and cheering on the Blue Jays. I love making our home feel warm and cozy, especially when the seasons change. I have so much fun decorating my counselling office too!
I also love getting out and enjoying the beautiful Okanagan: great dinners with family and friends, scenic walks and drives, browsing local markets, paddleboarding on Kal Lake (something I definitely want to do more of next summer!), or catching up with friends at a winery with a glass of wine and charcuterie board.
More than anything, I value the people in my life, meaningful connection, taking care of ourselves and one another, and appreciating those everyday moments that make life feel full.:)
